Leaf pick-up will begin the week of October 19 and continue, weather permitting through November 27. Please do not rake leaves into the street. Leaves may also be bagged and left at your normal pick-up area for Monday yard waste collection through November 30. Do not intermingle yard waste with leaves. Too many leaves for the tree lawn curb strip to hold? You may use biodegradable bags and leave them at the curb or behind the sidewalk on your property. However, loose piles of leaves must be at the curb in order for our leaf machine to be able to reach them from the street.
PLEASE KEEP LEAVES AND OTHER DEBRIS OUT OF THE STREET. Yard waste washes directly into local streams, transported by rainwater after a storm. Excess yard waste contributes organic material to streams which decays and consumes oxygen. During low stream flow periods, such as late-winter, this can cause significant stress to aquatic critters and fish. Leaves also clog storm drains and increase the likelihood of flooding on your street! Did you know......IT IS ILLEGAL TO SWEEP YOUR YARD WASTE, INCLUDING LEAVES AND GRASS CLIPPINGS, ONTO THE STREET OR DOWN THE STORM DRAIN. * Compost your leaves and grass clippings. It's the easiest way to keep them out ot the streets and storm drains, and thus, out of our local streams. * Chop your leaves with a power mower. A fine layer of chopped leaves provides nutrients to your lawn. * Use leaves around rose bushes and landscape plants. Leaves make excellent winter mulch. * Bag your leaves and grass clippings for pick-up. For more information on yard waste collection, please visit the Service Department's tab on this website, or call 614 488-4728. You may pick up a yard waste sticker at 1525 Goodale Boulevard, free of charge.

At the direction of City Council, a group of citizens has been working with consultant Benjamin D. Council is expected to refer the guidelines to the Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals for further review and approval.
